Change of name and ownership for Royal London Private Equity
24 November 2016Royal London Private Equity (RLPE) is being renamed RJD Partners Limited to reflect the forthcoming change in ownership of the company.
The four principals of RJD Partners are increasing their shareholdings to 85%; The Royal London Mutual Insurance Society Limited (RLMIS) will retain a 15% shareholding in the business.
The company, founded in late 2001 by David MacLellan, launched its first fund in April 2003 and will continue with its strategy of investing in leading lower middle market companies in the UK through management buyout and expansion capital investments in the service and leisure sectors, with emphasis on companies with enterprise values of between £10 million and £75 million.
Recent deals have included a £50 million fund raising transaction for debt recovery agency Equidebt, the buy out of merchant services reseller, Cardsave, and the £35 million buy out of Academy Music Group which owns and operates live music venues such as the Brixton Academy and the Shepherds Bush Empire.
